  • Financial and budget management skills to maintain balanced budget results within the Office of the Commissioner.
  • Actively identify and devise solutions to treat and control risk in the Office of the Commissioner, in line with the QBCC's system of risk management and alignment with the Strategic Risk Register.
Candidate Attributes
  1. A positive, analytical and proactive approach to resolving problems and identifying improvement opportunities. Acquire and apply a strong conceptual understanding of the activities and operations of the QBCC with an ability to succinctly explain operational programs and issues, and ability to analyse and identify gaps with stakeholder expectations. Analyse current and historical information to inform decisions and identify any critical gaps and maintain awareness of recent developments that may impact on the business area and acquire best practice approaches.
  2. Demonstrated ability in providing strategic and operational advice that is rigorously considered, has regard to the perspective and interests of all stakeholders and is supported by a clear rationale for findings and recommendations. Gather and evaluate information to establish facts and reach new conclusions, specific to QBCC operational issues, legislation, and the building and construction industry.
  3. Exceptional senior stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities with demonstrated ability to engage on complex matters and consider stakeholder views credibly and thoughtfully.
  4. Strong written and oral communications skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate.
