Your opportunity
As the Executive Officer – Office of the Mayor, you will provide a high level of expert professional support, management and policy advice to the Office of the Mayor to assist in the management and strategic direction setting for Redland City Council. This includes representing the Office of the Mayor's interests at all times, including in negotiations and at steering committees, meetings and forums.
Guided by our Values, you will:
- Work closely with the Mayor to help deliver the strategic focus and direction for Council. Work with all councillors, Office of the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to support the planning and delivery of projects and initiatives in line with Council's strategic objectives.
- Represent the Office of the Mayor's interests at all times, including in negotiations and at steering committees, meetings and forums.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Executive Leadership Team and key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the timely resolution of significant issues.
- Provide high level professional research, investigation, analysis, judgement and advice in relation to diverse and complex issues, initiatives and proposals that contribute towards the achievement of the Council's goals and objectives.

- Has significant experience in providing high level professional and strategic support, management and policy advice to a person in a high profile role.
- Has demonstrated expertise in dealing appropriately with confidential information in a politically sensitive environment.
- Has high level research, analytical and written communication skills to produce comprehensive briefings, reports, submissions and notes to executive level management.
- Has advanced interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, together with an ability to build strong and productive relationships.
A degree in Journalism and/or Political Science would be highly regarded for this role.

Eligibility
- You'll have a Current C class 'C' driver's licence
