SalaryExciting opportunity for experienced finance candidates to join our new Budget and Cost Management and Strategic Investment and Modelling teams.
As the Principal Finance Analyst you will assist with managing, develop and implementing budget management, forecasting and cost modelling functions to support corporate Finance Division and business areas across the Queensland Police Service (QPS).
Your part in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work including collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support organisational change and key QPS projects and initiatives.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Develop and maintain funding and costing frameworks for operating and capital budgets for the organisation, including a reconciliation of information to Queensland government Tridata reporting.
- Develop and implement models, costing tools and reporting to perform trend analysis and forecasting of workforce, infrastructure and non-labour costs to support decision making in line with Queensland government and organisational decisions.
- Provide high level financial and business advisory support including analysis of budget trends, variance analysis, cost drivers and forecasting insights to inform the development of internal and external submissions.
- Undertake financial analysis and reporting and financial evaluation of projects and initiatives using financial systems and other tools to meet information needs of stakeholders and the organisation.
- Engage and provide advice and recommendations to a range of internal and external stakeholders to support the implementation of financial management services and initiatives.

Role Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in Finance or a related discipline and relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
