Work Location: Across multiple sites in the Pilbara Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth The purpose of the Principal Health & Safety – Engineering & Projects role is to provide strategic health and safety support, operational leadership, and guidance to site teams. This includes establishing effective communication channels between site Operations teams and Engineering & Projects leaders, fostering a safety culture consistent with Fortescue values, and offering health and safety advice, expertise, and coaching to department managers, superintendents, and site contractors.
Additionally, the role involves providing technical support to site leaders to achieve plan and strategic outcomes. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with senior team members to align operating systems, monitor progress, and drive performance to support the business goals. Provide mentorship and Safety Leadership through positive engagement with the Fortescue and Contractor Management Teams across the sites.
Deliver functional performance reporting and advice to the Management team. Support the Engineering & Projects Management Team in conducting site-level incident investigations, ensuring completion of incident reports and monitoring corrective actions for effectiveness. Drive quality leading HSE metrics (Field Leadership, CCM and PTO Programs).
Provide quality review and coaching for Lagging HSE processes and metrics (Incidents, responses). Promote the Fortescue Major Hazards Program to ensure the health and safety of others…
