Rocky Bay is a leading disability service provider offering choice and independence to thousands of children and adults living with a disability in Western Australia. We currently have an excellent opportunity for a suitably experienced and qualified Health and Safety Professional to join our team.
What you will contribute to:
Lead the development, implementation, and review of Rocky Bay’s WHS Management Plan to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance.
Oversee Rocky Bay’s Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Program to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance and quality outcomes.
Lead, coach and manage the WHS Team to produce quality outcomes.
Develop and monitor the WHS Improvement Plan and annual programs(s) to continually improve the effectiveness of the WHS management system and ensure the achievement of performance objectives.
Manage the WHS Committee and its obligations.
Provide timely advice, expertise and consultancy to management and build the capability of the business to ensure sustained and continual improvement in WHS and injury management.
Manage the reporting and investigation of WHS incidents, including leading serious incident investigations with teams to ensure appropriate analysis and effective mitigation and prevention of reoccurrence.
Undertake WHS risk management activities, monitor, and analyse WHS data to identify trends, emerging issues, and improvement opportunities.
Report on the organisation’s WHS performance as required.
Oversee the planning and implementation of fire drills and other evacuation procedures.
Manage the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management process when the WC & IM Coordinator is absent.
About you:
Proven experience as a Senior Health and Safety professional of at least three years (similar industry preferred but not essential).
You hold an industry-recognised qualification in Work, Health & Safety.
Demonstrated experience in managing a team to obtain good-quality outcomes.
In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and guidelines with proven experience managing the associated obligations.
Ability to write well with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to review and educate about legislation, regulations, policy, and procedure changes.
Ability to undertake complex risk assessments, analyse trends and produce and present data reports.
Demonstrated high-level capability and case management skills and proven effectiveness in securing positive outcomes in early intervention and rehabilitation.
A strategic and systems focus and the ability to innovate and manage complex projects to successful completion.
Strong communication skills and a proven capacity to develop and manage relationships with stakeholders across business areas, engaging and collaborating to achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation.
A positive and professional leadership approach, sound judgment, and the resilience and skills to adapt to change.
