About the Role
The HR Governance and Risk team has recently been established to partner proactively across the HR function as well as the Global Business Services HR function to enhance governance practices and uplift the risk culture. The purpose of the Principal role is to provide expert advice in support of these objectives.
The coverage of the team is wide and varied and this role will provide technical expertise on the oversight & governance across a range of HR related areas including HR Global Standards, HR policy/documentation, processes, operating model, employment & payroll requirements.
The role will create value for the organisation through the continuous review and improvement of appropriate risk management, governance and assurance programs.
Reporting to Manager HR Governance Risk, your accountabilities will include:
- Partnering with relevant stakeholders to design, implement and execute Governance & assurance activities in relation to end-to-end HR Global Standards, policy, HR documentation, process and operating model.
- Working with relevant stakeholders both inside and outside of HR to assure that employment terms and conditions are understood and correctly applied where required.
- Leading the governance process for the Payroll Blueprints, ensuring that the interpretation of Enterprise Agreements, legislation & policies are incorporated into system, process and documents.
- Partnering with Line 1 & Line 2 Risk & coordinating the HR Risk forum to holistically review risk management activities across all HR.
- Partnering with Group Finance & Accounting to lead SOX control activities for HR (“HR SOX Champion”).
- Coordinating reporting obligations for HR, e.g. HR’s contribution of content for the Annual Reporting suite.
About You
As a successful candidate you will likely have deep technical expertise in one or more HR disciplines (e.g. Reward, ER, Payroll, Business Partnership) and a broad-based knowledge across the range of HR disciplines to enable you to understand the various interactions and interdependencies across all HR areas.
You will also possess the following:
- Previous experience with HR systems and processes within a globally complex business.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or other relevant discipline.
- Strong knowledge of & ability to interpret HR policies, employment legislation & industrial instruments.
- Demonstratable experience and a clear understanding of risk management frameworks and practices.
- Ability to coordinate work & deliverables with multiple groups.
- Strong influencing skills.
- Understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) with reference to controls.
- While it’s not mandatory, strong business acumen with demonstrated experience in the resources industry is highly regarded.
Location
There is flexibility for this role to be based at our Australian corporate offices in Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide. You will be working on Monday-Friday and flexible work is also offered.
