The role:
The Principal Inclusive Designer at NAB is dedicated to championing accessibility and inclusive design across all our digital platforms.
Your opportunity:
Ensuring that all digital product designs meet international web accessibility standards, such as WCAG 2.2 to AA standard.
Leading the design process to ensure inclusivity in all digital banking products and services, considering diverse customer needs including those with disabilities.
Conducting extensive user research and usability testing with a diverse range of users, including people with various disabilities, to gather insights for improving accessibility and user experience.
Collaborating with various departments (such as tech, marketing, customer service) to embed inclusive design principles across the organization.
Educating and training internal teams on the importance of accessibility and inclusive design and advocating for these principles in all projects.
Accessibility Auditing and Remediation: Regularly auditing digital content and interfaces for accessibility issues for remediation with technology team.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in accessibility and inclusive design and implementing innovative solutions to enhance user experience for all customers.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels about the importance and impact of inclusive design and incorporating their feedback into design processes.
Developing and advising NAB's accessibility guidelines in line with current standards and legal requirements.
Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the effectiveness of accessibility initiatives, and using
What you'll bring:
A minimum of 8 years of experience in digital design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in aesthetic, inclusive and accessible design.
In-depth knowledge of WCAG 2.2 guidelines and how to apply them to complex digital experiences.
Proven experience leading design projects and collaborating with large, multidisciplinary teams. Large corporations experience preferred.
Strong presentation and persuasion skills, with the ability to articulate the value of inclusive design to various stakeholders.
Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, as well as familiarity with front-end development practices and how they impact accessibility.
