The role:
Support the management and delivery of legal services to the Department of Health (DoH). This includes managing the provision of specialist high level legislative review and legal support advisory services to the Minister for Health, Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, Executive, Strategic Executive and other senior managers in DoH regarding legal policy issues for the health system including statewide and national issues and developments.
- Provide specialist advice to support legislative review, including preparing or coordinating relevant legal policy advice, drafting instructions, Minutes, Cabinet submissions, Parliamentary Papers, and other documentation.
- Manage and assist with the provision of authorative advice in relation to contracting issues, developing agreements, matters relating to indemnity and insurance
- Conducting research, investigations and undertaking analysis into emerging legal issues.
- Advise on emerging legal issues and formulate correspondence to the Office of the Solicitor-General and State Litigation Office.
- Assist with managing the Agency's statutory obligations, including Right to Information requests.

Details of Appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $127,371 - $130,905 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

- Tertiary qualifications in law

- crimes involving dishonesty
