- Providing and ensuring the provision of superior level, strategic, independent and professional legal advice and documentation to all levels of the department on commercial law, property law and/or administrative law matters, with a focus on property law matters.
- Maintaining a superior level of knowledge of contemporary issues impacting on the property area of the law and their relationship with relevant government policies and initiatives.
- Facilitating and managing the development of efficient and effective policy and legislative frameworks for the department by facilitating and managing projects in a range of research, policy development, legislative development and evaluation activities, in accordance with best practice.
- Liaising and negotiating effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholders on matters affecting the operations of the department.
- Providing superior level independent advice regarding dispute resolution and the management of litigation relating to property law, on behalf of the department and the State.
- Developing and overseeing major projects, making recommendations based on findings and managing the implementation of advice.
- Managing and supervising the work of a number of legal staff.
