About Charters Towers Central State School
Charters Towers Central State School is situated in Charters Towers, just over 1km from the CBD. Established in 1875, today Charters Towers Central State School caters for over 140 students from Prep to Year 6.
Our dedicated and experienced teaching staff take pride in presenting the curriculum in an integrated, innovative and inspiring way with a view to helping students meet their potential. We are also supported by a terrific community which enables us to offer a range of fun events during the year including Under 8's day, NAIDOC events, Book Week parades, Athletics Carnivals and Graduation Day, just to name a few.
Charters Towers Central State School is a proud Positive Behaviour Learning school (PBL). At Central, children are taught explicit behaviour expectations to ensure students are provided with life long values.
Our grounds include large undercover areas, a Hall, multiple playgrounds, a sports oval, gardens and open spaces. Facilities for the school are being continually developed. The classrooms are situated with a central focal point which offers learning flexibility between classes, and are pleasantly located next to lovely gardens. Within the buildings, staff have developed a variety of teaching areas to cater for the needs of every child.
About the Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Active participants in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
