The company’s owner is offering a great opportunity for either a Principal Mechanical Engineer, or the right Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the company in a part-time role 3-4 days a week. This opportunity's flexible working arrangements would suit somebody that needs more time away from work, and/or is approaching retirement.
The role will report to the owner and be responsible for the following areas:
- Key project: Preparing technical specifications and owner's engineering support to Australia's largest energy provider.
- Preparing design documentation for FEED and detailed design of small to medium-sized multidisciplinary projects in coal seam gas, oil refining, manufacturing, and hydrogen generation industries.
- Pipe stress analysis of piping systems using Caesar II.
- Providing engineering input to 3D models and drawings for process plants, piping and mechanical equipment including plot plans, isometrics, and general arrangements.
- Checking work prepared by junior members of the company.
The ideal person for this role will have the following skills and attributes:
- Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering with RPEQ
- Owner's engineering experience in Australia's energy and gas industries
- Piping design and stress analysis using Caesar II or similar software
- Mechanical equipment design
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards ASME B31.3, B31.12, AS4041, AS1210
