ABOUT THE ROLE
Do you have exceptional leadership skills and payroll knowledge? Do you love a challenge and are solutions focussed with a positive can-do attitude? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you as the Principal Payroll Consultant with the Department of Justice.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can influence and bring about change in a challenging environment. As part of the Payroll Services leadership team, you will be able to connect to the strategic direction of Human Resources and be able to successfully impart vision to the team to bring them along. You will have strong networking skills and be able to use those to progress change within the team and within external business areas.
The Department uses Ceridian A-Pay (formerly Ascender) to manage over 7000 employees covered by approximately 20 industrial awards and agreements, plus others covered by special administrative arrangements and Acts, so an ability to quickly absorb information and apply it to payroll processes is essential in leading the team.

We require you to submit: * A current comprehensive CV including the contact details of two referees and;
- A statement of no more than two pages addressing the following Role Specific Criteria contained in the JDF in the context of the Job Related Requirements and Role Specific Responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to impart strategic vision, lead staff and direct work that aligns with strategic objectives to achieve positive outcomes for the Directorate and for the broader organisation, as required.
- Demonstrated high-level knowledge of and experience in the delivery of a complex payroll service, including employee entitlements and benefits, in accordance with industrial and legislative requirements.
