The Opportunity!
An opportunity has arisen for a confident, outgoing and customer-focused individual to join our friendly finance team in the position of Payroll Officer.
This position is based in our Head Office in Balcatta and reports to the Group Accountant.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all payroll information and transactions.
- Conduct reconciliations of GL accounts with payroll system reports.
- Process employee deductions and other transactions, such as superannuation, child support, additional tax, bank accounts, etc.
- Liaise with Superannuation funds to inform staff of options in the application of Superannuation and choice of funds.
- Maintain reports, files, and other data associated with injury management and workers compensation.
- Other general ad-hoc administration, reports and accounts duties.
Position Requirements
This position requires a motivated & proactive individual who has a keen eye for detail and can-do attitude. To be successful in this role you will also need to demonstrate:
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in similar role.
- A sound knowledge of: Payroll legislation, policy, and practice, including PAYG, Payroll tax, Employer Superannuation requirements, Workers compensation legislation, Modern Awards and the Fair Work Act, in relation to employee payments.
- A high level of attention to detail, especially with regards to data entry, and excellent time management with strong workflow management skills.
- A strong customer focus, displaying professionalism, honesty, integrity and willingness to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong computing skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, and previous experience with MYOB and/or Netsuite is advantageous.
- Good interpersonal skills including a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
