Form of workWe are looking for a project manager with engineering experience to lead our maintenance team as the Principal Maintenance and Planning Manager - Maritime Platforms, joining our team in the Defence Programmes Group located in our Kings Park, NSW office or Henderson, WA. With significant growth in Defence at Penske you'll play a crucial role in managing the project team's including engaging in engineering maintenance discussions, timelines, customer engagement and customer technical compliance. This role would suite a candidate that is familiar with Defence, your ability to interface effectively with Commonwealth representatives and internal stakeholders, understanding of Penske and Defence culture will be essential to success in this role.
About you:
- Demonstrable history of effective communication, influence and motivation within dispersed teams.
- Experience in operations management of mechanical assets or site installations.
- Engineering qualification (desirable).
- Practical experience in managing mobile assets.
- Familiarity with the structure and requirements of ASDEFCON (Support).
- Ability to work within a Quality Management System (QMS) and adhere to ISO Quality Standards and Environmental Policies
- Able to achieve and maintain Defence Security Clearance (to baseline or above as the case may be). This requires you to be an Australian Citizen.

What will you do?
- Engage and collaborate with the Contracted Enterprise to effectively deliver the objectives of the Support Contract through National Operations.
- Develop policies and procedures to streamline the effective management & administration of Multiple Naval Platforms.
- Manage the team to ensure ongoing delivery of the scope of services for Multiple Naval Platforms within the Royal Australian Navy, ensuring compliance with policies, processes & procedures.
- Perform budgeting reviews of the National EMP Production Forecasts against Individual Asset Class Total Budget Estimates.
- Manage through your team the Support Services Master Schedule (SSMS).
- Working with your Project Management team to develop efficiencies and business cases collaborating with the Finance, Inventory and Contract Management teams to evolve and promote proposals to the Commonwealth through the interrogation of material, subcontract, and labour processes.
