As we continue to deliver & evolve, we are looking for an experienced Principal Primary Electrical Engineer to join our team.
About the role
The Principal Primary Engineer will build and maintain strong relationships with the inhouse construction teams and our client to effectively deliver to client expectations. You will bring specialist engineering capabilities to conceptual and detailed design of high voltage installation including: powerplants, substations, solar and wind farms as well as;
- Develop specifications, interface with construction team and management on design issues
- Contribute to original or apply new professional engineering approaches and techniques to design or development of equipment
- Undertake design for plant layouts, earthing systems, HV cables, lightning protection
- Plan, coordinate and mentor other engineers
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

- Degree in electrical engineering
- At least 8 years’ design engineering experience
- Experience and fundamental understanding of insulation coordination, HV cable design, earthing design and lightning protection
- Proficient with Cymcap and CDEGS design software
- Proactively seek to continuously improve performance, deliverables and work efficiencies
- Positive approach to safety
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Excellent relationship building, problem solving, commercial and negotiation skills
