The Resilience and Recovery Division provides leadership, coordination, direction and advice for the development and management of disaster resilience and recovery planning, policy, funding, and supports its operational implementation prior to and post disaster events. Your role provides high-level support to the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team in the Resilience and Recovery Division, QRA.
In this role you will:
- Understand, support and guide GIS projects and actively contribute to the development of innovative technical solutions using the ESRI Enterprise suite.
- Provide well-considered, strategic advice and relevant high-quality delivery of spatial information, utilising GIS technologies using the ESRI software via application programming interface to support and deliver outcomes.
- Provide effective leadership to manage the planning, development, and implementation of advanced GIS solutions, including web applications for a suite of project briefs as allocated by the Manager GIS.
- Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day operations of a multi-disciplinary team undertaking a range of tasks, and foster a culture of cooperation, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.
- Liaise, consult and work collaboratively with other business groups, including QRA ICT to ensure GIS development and applications are carried out in accordance with relevant policies and preferred technologies and provide technical GIS expertise to influence future policies and directions.
- Proactively build and sustain positive close relationships and consultative processes with internal and external stakeholders, including providing regular updates on the status of GIS solution development.
- Lead the development and management of key systems and spatially related databases through associated procedures and policies. Support / own the GIS infrastructure environment, including upgrades and patches where required.
- Regularly provide feedback and updates to the Manager GIS on the status of project briefs, identifying any emerging trends and escalating complex issues where required.
