We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic procurement professional to join our finance team within the Energy Division. In the role of Principal Advisor you will be supporting the enhancements required to the collaborative procurement and contracting framework and assisting with procurement projects to support implementation of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan. You will be liaising with project teams, preparing tender documentation for release to market, evaluating tenders and providing analysis and advice with regard to key government policy and other requirements to enable contract award. You will monitor, measure and manage to compliance information to facilitate standardised monitoring and reporting.
The position reports to the Manager Budget and Financial Management. Key responsibilities
- Analysing and advising teams about appropriate procurement and supply chain strategies for major projects to minimise risk and ensure value for money
- Supporting project teams to prepare tender documentation for release to market, ensuring alignment to key departmental procurement strategies
- Supporting Tender Evaluation Panels through providing advice and analysis, and recommendations about key government legislative/policy and other requirements.
- Monitoring, measuring and managing key government legislative/policy and other requirements to ensure major project delivery optimisation.
- Analysing data and trends from key result areas and measures to identify opportunities improve and enhance current program development and project delivery.
- Contributing to the development and monitoring of contract and supplier performance, evaluation and reporting strategies that focus on rewarding good performance.
- Advanced skills in internal and external networking and relationships to facilitate the implementation of sound procurement practices.
- Prepare Ministerial Briefing Papers, Reports and sensitive correspondence for endorsement by the DDG Energy in relation to implementation of projects under the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan and their procurement strategies.
- Represent the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan on forums and committees and in whole of government processes as required.
- Contribute to other activities of the Finance team and Strategy, National and Analytics business group as required
