We are seeking a temporary (until 31 December 2024, unless otherwise determined) AO8 Principal Research Officer to join the small and mighty Research Services team which deals with a wide variety of research-related matters including:
- progressing the Department of Education's research agenda;
- dissemination, translation and promotion of research projects and their findings;
- overseeing funding and research partnership opportunities; and
- supporting departmental staff in research and evaluation activities and findings.

About the Role
Among other duties, your key responsibilities will include:
- working with and advising external researchers wishing to undertake research in state schools and other departmental sites;
- critically reviewing, analysing and providing advice to the Director, Research Services on research applications to undertake research in state schools and other departmental sites;
- contributing to the development of research priorities to drive future research in the department;
- assisting in the design of research projects and coordinating external contractors to conduct research in areas of relevance and significance to the educational needs of Queensland;
- developing and monitoring collaborative research relationships with universities' research initiatives, individuals, other research programs and the non-government education sector; and
- interpreting research findings and draft reports on the potential application of research findings, for internal use and for publication.
