Key responsibilities
In the role of Principal Sourcing Specialist, you will work as part of a dynamic procurement team to provide strategic advice on procurement initiatives and deliver activities that meet stakeholder objectives and achieve results.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Provide professional support to customers with expert, authoritative and timely advice primarily relating to ICT procurement.
- Lead and manage strategic (high value, high risk) ICT procurement activities in partnership with internal stakeholders across multiple branches of TMR.
- Deliver value for money procurement outcomes and benefits through well managed strategic sourcing activities and contract negotiations that drive accountability, probity, consistency and transparency.
- Understand and leverage better procurement practices, innovation and market intelligence in the category by building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, industry, peer organisations and other external stakeholders.
- Actively manage individual and team performance and provide supportive leadership to develop a sustainable and capable ICT procurement workforce.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or professional certification in procurement would be highly desirable
- High/Expert level knowledge and application of Queensland Information Technology Contracting (QITC) Framework.
- High/Expert knowledge and application of Queensland Government Procurement Policy 2023 (or similar).
- Strong and proven experience leading ICT Procurement negotiations with the Queensland Government (or similar).
- Desire to work in a high performing, agile ICT Procurement team who are leading the way in innovative and adaptive ICT procurement practices and projects.
