Role
Reporting to the Site Manager, the HSEQ Manager position will be based at the Clayton site and actively manage and lead the quality of the Beverage Can manufacturing operations – ensuring year on year performance improvements.
The role will work with a highly passionate and successful team to ensure objectives across quality and customer service are met. Ensuring Quality systems are adhered to and implementing Quality Assurance as a way of life. Ensuring Quality Assurance is both proactive as well as reactive.
An important element of the role is to provide leadership with customers in responding to escalated quality issues which impact customer line or service performance. This involves customer interaction and investigations using RCA and DMAIC.
Additionally, the role will coach and develop site health and safety representatives to ensure the site is focusing on it's continued strong safety record.
Key responsibilities include;
- Actively set targets and implement Quality KPI’s, continuously monitoring all Quality incidents to ensure required standards are achieved
- Manage analytical reporting on QA performance
- Use the internal business Quality Management System to ensure proactive Quality Assurance processes
- Ensure product bench testing and self life evaluation processes are followed correctly
- Manage the quality of imported materials
- Manage a positive customer engagement process
- Lead the site and it's staff in living QA as a way of life
- Develop and coordinate corrective action plans to rectify any areas where improvement is required and achievable
- Investigate escalated customer complaints (DMAIC) and formulate corrective actions
- Lead monthly safety meetings and reporting with HSE representatives
- Quality Assurance experience within a fast paced, customer focused manufacturing environment.
- Proven history of building strong relationships with customers.
- Knowledge of production systems and good manufacturing processes.
- Ability to problem solve proactively and have a solutions based mindset.
- Coaching and supportive work style.
- Experience in improving processes in quality and manufacturing.
- History of conducting investigations through DMAIC/RCA.
- Strong communication skills to work with senior leadership and customers.
