Form of workThe Principal Structural Engineer role provides the opportunity to lead our Perth Structural Engineering team. In this role you will lead and manage the structural analysis and design related activities from studies to execution and detailed design, in compliance with client design requirements, Australian Standards and legislative requirements. You will need to provide technical support and be able to effectively communicate with all stakeholders while allocating and managing the workload of your structural team.
The successful candidate will have an interest/demonstrated experience in being a conduit between clients and engineering teams, which may include the need for occasional site visits as determined by the project.
Key Skills / Requirements -
- Relevant Bachelors of Engineering (Civil/Structural) Degree, recognised by the Institute of Engineers (Australia)
- Structural engineering experience from scoping studies through to execution
- Proven leadership skills that would allow you to supervise the workload and professional/personal development of a team of engineers
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and develop strong working relationships
- Experience in collaborating with drafting department to produce drawing outputs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills for multiple concurrent designs in progress; ability to re-arrange and interrupt work
- Innovative approach to problem solving
