Perth Office
South32's corporate office is based in the heart of Perth's CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

This role is a Permanent full-time position. This role will be based at our head office in Perth. For desirable candidates, we may consider basing the role in other South32 office locations. We understand and value the benefits flexibility brings and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home).
As Principal Sustainability Strategy & Governance, you will support the evolution of our approach to sustainability (i.e., our Sustainability Strategy) and be responsible for governance of risk and opportunity associated with South32's material sustainability topics and the plan to deliver the governance framework.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Engage with operational and functional leaders and teams to build understanding of our approach to sustainability governance and support implementation of the sustainability governance framework action plan
- Manage the process to assess sustainability-related risks and opportunities
- Manage relationships with key external stakeholders on sustainability issues
- Provide subject matter expertise on sustainability performance, strategy, and emerging trends
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Several years' experience in a large, complex organisation
- Substantial demonstrated ability in a similar role
- Resources sector experience would be a benefit
- Detailed knowledge of and passion for sustainability principles and practice, and of sustainability regulatory and stakeholder environments
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships across multiple teams and levels within an organisation
- Bachelor's degree (minimum), post graduate level qualifications desirable
