Our Group Accounting team is responsible for the consolidation and analysis of the Wesfarmers Group accounts, management and improvement of finance systems, accounting and taxation matters for the Corporate Office, as well as providing a source of expertise for the Wesfarmers Group.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Manager - Technical and Statutory Reporting, this role will:
- Lead the preparation of Wesfarmers Group Statutory Reporting including half year and full year financial statements
- Oversee the preparation of Audit and Risk Committee reports
- Oversee the annual impairment testing and impairment trigger review process for the Wesfarmers Group
- Support our Manager - Technical and Statutory Reporting with due diligence, acquisition accounting and business integration processes for the Wesfarmers Group as required
- Provide Technical Accounting advice on complex issues to key stakeholders
- Develop and deliver Technical Accounting training programs for our businesses
- Establish and update Group Accounting policies in accordance with Australian Accounting standards
- Significant experience in financial accounting, including Statutory Reporting, interpretation of accounting standards and accounting for acquisitions and disposals
- Experience in a similar role within a commercial environment and/or a large accounting firm (preferably audit)
- A naturally inquisitive and analytical mind, and strong ability to problem solve
- Effective interpersonal and communication capabilities
- Outstanding level of attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and meet agreed deadlines
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce or a related discipline and have completed CA/CPA accreditation

The Corporate Office provides corporate services and support to the autonomous Wesfarmers divisions, helping to enable the achievement of Group objectives. The Corporate office leads capital allocation and portfolio management for the Group and focuses on leveraging and enhancing the Group's reputation to support attraction and retention of talent, securing investment opportunities and maintaining a low-cost capital.
