Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain advanced chemical mixing for C-type RA4 printing machines, specifically the Noritsu Wetlab series including models 3300 and 3502.
- Manage the storage, handling, and usage of Kodak Special Print Chemicals, particularly the 111 Pack chems, adhering to strict safety standards and protocols.
- Oversee and execute the processing of analog film materials, ensuring all products meet the specific aesthetic and technical quality standards of Rewind Photo Lab.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of printing and processing equipment to minimise downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- Execute precision cutting and trimming of photographic prints using paper guillotines.
- Load printed items into drying racks, and unload and stack dry items after processing.
- Operate systems designed to insert finished photographic prints into photo books, albums, and custom packaging solutions.
- Embellish printed photographic products both automatically and manually, applying finishing touches that enhance the visual quality of the final product.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven background in analog photographic printing and detailed knowledge of C-type printing processes.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and operating Noritsu Wetlab series printers (3300, 3502, or similar models).
- Extensive experience with Kodak Special Print Chemicals, including detailed knowledge of handling, safety, and usage of 111 Pack chems.
- Expertise in analog film processing, including a detailed understanding of different film types and their specific handling and processing requirements.
- Advanced understanding of colour calibration and digital file management for optimal printing output.
- Proficiency in handling light-sensitive materials, including operating under pitch-black conditions for extended periods.
- Ability to efficiently load and refresh a paper magazine within 42 seconds in complete darkness, demonstrating exceptional manual dexterity and spatial awareness.
- At least AQF Certificate IV qualification plus 2 years relevant work experience, or at least 3 years relevant work experience in a related field.
- No allergies to photo chemicals such as Ammonium Thiosulfate, Glutaraldehyde, or Phenidone.
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess 20/20 vision (corrected or uncorrected) and demonstrate accurate colour judgement. Applicants will undergo a colour vision test during the interview process.
- Preferred reaction time between 250-500 milliseconds, to be tested during the recruitment phase.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure without compromising on quality.
