You bring demonstrated experience in providing practical advice on the interpretation and application of Privacy and Data Protection laws in Australia, New Zealand, and one or more jurisdictions in the Asia Pacific; as well as an awareness of the planned privacy law reforms being implemented in Australia and existing Data Protection laws in the UK and European Union.
You have also been responsible for evaluating privacy risk assessments and recommending corrective actions to help your organisation achieve compliance with relevant Privacy and legislation/policies coordinating the response to personal data breaches and assessing their potential impact and overseeing the handling of privacy queries and individual rights requests from colleagues, clients or customers.
Some other essentials to help you succeed in this role include: being able to explain complex legal, regulatory and policy requirements to colleagues without using confusing technical or legal jargon; being highly skilled at managing a varied workload and meeting challenging deadlines; highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; and the intellectual curiosity required to maintain and develop your professional expertise.

Your Opportunity
Based in Melbourne or Sydney and reporting to the Group Head of Privacy and Data Protection based in the United Kingdom, you'll become a key member of the global Privacy and Data Protection Team and will be responsible for advising Mott MacDonald business units operating across the Asia Pacific and Australasia regions of their obligations under our global privacy compliance framework as well as applicable privacy laws.
This role will see you engaging and collaborating with colleagues in the following jurisdictions: Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. Occasional travel may be required to support in-person training and awareness initiatives.
