Job description
Background
Peak Fresh is a well-established traditional plastics manufacturer and innovator in modified atmospheric packaging and thermal refrigerated packaging and compostable film.
Daily tasks include:
1) Managing the engineering function, ensuring targets are met.
2) Supporting the implementation of new equipment and manufacturing processes.
3) Coaching and developing staff members to create behavioural change.
4) Driving overall improvement, with focus on Lean Manufacturing.
5) Ensuring Health and Safety requirements are being monitored, implemented, and maintained.
6) Ensuring optimum performance of equipment is maintained and directing the maintenance of buildings and equipment by inspection and maintenance schedules.
7) Identifying areas of waste by reviewing project information, staffing and unit functions and responsibilities.
8) Determining optimum equipment and labour utilization by analysing the workforce, facility layout, output data, costs, and equipment efficiencies.
9) Designing mechanical equipment, components, and systems.
10) Using engineering principles and safety regulations to establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance.
11) Organising and managing project labour and delivery materials and equipment.
Requirements:
1) A bachelor’s degree in area of engineering in a related discipline including Industrial or Mechanical engineering is essential.
2) Experience in the plastics industry and understanding of thermoplastics are essential.
3) A strong track record of Process Engineering and/or Lean manufacturing is essential.
Annual salary: $ 70,000 - $80,000 + superannuation
Working Hours: 38 hours of work per week
