Our Opportunity Work Location: Hedland Operations - Fortescue's Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. Roster: 4/3 (Monday to Thursday) Fortescue has an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Process Engineer to join the Engineering team on a 4/3 roster in Port Hedland. Reporting to Hedland Engineering Superintendent, the role is responsible for providing process and materials handling support/leadership to the Port Operations including optimising throughput, sampling processes and water usage by working closely with the Port Operations, Iron Bridge Concentrate Handling, Metallurgy and Engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Generate, initiate, and lead Port optimisation studies. Develop and manage sampling and test work programs. Develop and manage modelling to assist management decisions for water usage, shipped moisture and grade. Generate process related deliverables and documentation for modelling, test work and project evaluation and delivery. Be the conduit between the Port Operations, Iron Bridge Concentrate Handling Facility, Metallurgy and Engineering teams to improve ore/materials handling knowledge and lock in improvements. Engage OEM vendors for equipment/process improvements. Ensure strong alignment and application of Health & Safety standards. Oversee technical quality, integrity, and adequacy of the Port process documentation. Qualifications and Experience Demonstrated commitment to safety. Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical/Process/Materials Engineering, or similar discipline. Minimum 5 years mineral processing industry experience including materials handling improvements. Strong MS office skill and experience with simulation packages. Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus.
