You will be part of a growing dedicated engineering team that will be at the forefront of this new technology development. The role is responsible to drive efficiency, quality, and innovation in manufacturing processes. The role is responsible for designing, optimising, and maintaining production processes to maximise output, minimise waste, and ensure product quality.
From an operational and delivery perspective, the Process Engineer will:
- Design and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
- Provide technical support to product development teams, including process feasibility studies, design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, and prototype testing.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives to identify and implement process improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements.
- Select, validate, and implement manufacturing equipment and technologies to support process improvements and new product introductions.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications and standards.
- Analyse process data, including yield, cycle time, and defect rates, to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide training to production personnel on new processes, equipment, and quality control procedures, and develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new products or processes, including design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews and process validations.
- Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, production, quality, and supply chain, to ensure alignment of process improvements with overall business objectives and customer requirements.
To be successful in this role you will have experience as a Process Engineer within a similar industry and product offering.You will have experience across the following:
- Engineering degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in volume manufacturing, automation, processing, in plastics processing.
- experience in plant design, layout, processing, tooling with a specialised focus on plastics processing.
- Strong knowledge of automation, plastics tooling, metal tooling and processing techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on plastics-related challenges.
- Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Has an inquisitive nature and is not afraid to dive deep to root cause problems.
- In addition to being a highly skilled Process Engineer, you are friendly, approachable and can build relationships with others in the team. You’re a great listener and understand that everyone has a different skill set and perspective.
- Ability to successfully collaborate with technical and non-technical staff.
- A team player that can also ensure individual workload is successfully delivered.
