About the Role

As the Process Engineering Team Lead, you will head a dedicated team of Process Engineers at the forefront of innovation within the EAPNG Operating Division. You'll oversee technical assessments and discipline engineering support for both development projects and essential stay-in-business initiatives.

The role requires a “Blue Sky” mindset with a flair for creativity which will form a crucial part of ensuring that all projects feature designs fit for purpose, with a strong emphasis on the Concept Select and FEED phases focusing on methods of cost-effective optimisation. You'll navigate the balance between risk and reward, working to enhance project NPV during the critical front-end loading phases.

Additionally, you'll ensure strict adherence to Australian and Santos Standards, as well as the asset Operating Philosophy, to maintain operational excellence throughout each project.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Delivering FEL for a portfolio of EAPNG projects to improve project value enabling access a greater reserve base. 
  • Ensuring development project scope adheres to the asset Operating Philosophy in what it delivers. 
  • Owners Engineering input to prevent scope drift in FEED and Detailed design – fit for purpose design, ensuring compliance with Santos, Australian and international specifications and standards.
  • Identifying opportunities to exploit the resource differently, at lower cost or improve resource recovery. 
  • Balances Risk and Reward in design – inherently safe & operable facilities at the lowest lifecycle cost. 
  • Work closely & collaboratively with Development and Project Managers ensuring key deliverables are in place to meet project milestones and assurance gates. 

About You

Professional Experience:

Essential:

  • Substantial experience in oil and gas or similar industry.
  • Solid experience as a practicing engineer in Oil and Gas Upstream or Processing facilities, practicing in the Process Engineering discipline. 
  • Leading Engineering Teams in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company, preferably in support of both Operations and project teams.  
  • Familiar with relevant Australian and ASME standards as applicable to Oil and Gas industry

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer and eligible for RPEQ

Desired:

  • Post graduate qualification in Project Management.
