Reporting to the Engineering and Reliability Superintendent, the Senior Process Engineer to provide leadership and guidance for the Process Engineering team to assist in achieving the annual business plans for both the Engineering & Reliability teams. Responsibilities are to provide technical guidance to the Hedland Operation to achieve upgrade/ yield targets and production capabilities. Development and maintenance of reporting systems to provide the business with timely and accurate reporting of performance.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor and coach Process Engineers on correct operation philosophy and maintenance of process units to deliver optimum quality and throughput.
- Provide visible safety leadership, modeling positive safety behaviors.
- Oversee metallurgical aspects of lab production and procedures, to ensure safe and accurate work.
- Monitor plant performance and liaise closely with the Operations team to maximize product throughput.
- Liaise closely with the Operations team and control room to ensure optimum product quality is achieved at all times.
- Contribute to plant availability by working collaboratively with Engineering and Reliability and Maintenance.
- Complete investigations and analysis on plant performance to identify quality improvements and undertake/ recommend remedial actions.
- Ensure that all samples are representative of the product being produced and instrumentation is certified and calibrated.
- Assist in the development of budgets and cost forecasts for the Engineering team.
- >7 years mineral processing industry experience - operational / technical.
- Extensive knowledge of dry and wet mineral processing unit operations.
- Good knowledge of iron ore processing (DSO or beneficiation).
- Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs.
- Process plant operations in a mining environment.
- SCADA and PLC programming - desirable.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of computer literacy, proficiency with MS Office in particular Excel.
- Data analysis and reporting.
- Problem solving in a dynamic work environment.
- SAP and delay accounting systems - desirable.
