Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. The Team Lead is tasked with guaranteeing the prompt delivery of both functional and intrinsically safe process engineering designs across the spectrum of projects carried out by the Process Engineering team of the Energy & Resources Business Unit, located in Brisbane. This position also involves the duty of offering RPEQ certification for Process Engineering outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discipline Team Lead for Brisbane office-based Process Engineering team;
- Perform Lead Process Engineer function over a portfolio of projects in the Energy & Resources Business Unit;
- Direct supervision of Process Engineering activities performed by direct reports;
- Input, review and RPEQ sign-off of process engineering deliverables and design for upstream oil and gas projects;
- Ensure all process engineering designs comply with applicable statutory Codes and Standards;
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the QA procedure;
- Perform the Lead Engineer role in HAZOPs and LOPAs;
- Review, prepare and provide input into proposals and/or project variations including deliverables lists, staff-hour estimates and project schedule;
- Resource allocation and priority setting of Process Engineering resources to support active projects in the business;
- Deliver projects on time, to Quality standards and budget requirements;
- Continued contribution to the development, implementation and improvement of internal systems;
- Performance appraisals, competency monitoring, staff training and development;
- Onboarding of new engineers to the team;
- Client interface and liaison as required.
- Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering
- RPEQ accreditation is essential
- CSG gathering and brownfields experience is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and technical report writing skills.
- Strong knowledge of applicable industry Codes & Standards including API 520 / 521, AS 60079 and AS 2885.
- Strong technical Process Engineering skillset in the field of fluid flow hydraulics and relief valve sizing. Aptitude in gas dispersion and heat radiation contour modelling is highly desirable.
- Experienced in leading a process design through HAZOP and LOPA workshop reviews.
- Commitment to Health & Safety in the workplace and the use of safe work systems
- Experience within the Australian CSG industry preferred
- Familiar with interdisciplinary review (or “squad check”) process.
- Hydrogen design experience highly desirable
