The Opportunity
One of key clients requires one (1) Specified Personnel for the position of Contracts and Procurement Advisor, as part of their Finance branch. This position is equivalent to an (APS6) for five days a week maximum of 37.5 hours a week.
The role is for a contract staff member to provide a high level of Contracts and Procurement Advisor services to internal and external resources, ensuring our clients compliance with procurement policy and managing contractual relationships and performance outcomes for them
This role assists our client’s business areas in achieving their operational and strategic objectives by delivering accurate and timely advice relating to resourcing requirements, tender processes and Contract management matters.
This role works closely within a small team of procurement professionals, it operates independently and contributes as an effective member of the team to achieve high quality outcomes. Along with the required skills, the role exercises sound judgement and makes informed decisions to support strategic outcomes across the Department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high level advice and assistance to staff in the preparation of tender documents, conducting tender evaluations, leading negotiations and drafting contracts in accordance with CASA's policies and procurement guidelines.
- Ensure CASA’s compliance with procurement policy, contract management processes, capturing and reporting Procurement and Contract data.
- Support CASA business areas in their strategic objectives by providing tailored contracting and procurement solutions as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in government Procurement and Contract management
- Demonstrated understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules
- Be experienced in conducting procurement processes including drafting approach to market documentation, undertaking evaluation activities and Contract drafting
