Exciting role within the Diplomatic Academy’s Learning Business Operations Section
Manage diverse contracts, provide high-level advice, and ensure compliance

Our client is seeking a high performing Procurement and Contract Manager to join the Learning Business Operations Section within the Diplomatic Academy for an initial 12-month period (1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025) with a potential for two x 12 months extension options.
About the role The Procurement and Contract Manager will work under general direction to support the Director and other line managers within the Learning Business Operations Section. Duties will include:
Responsibility for managing a range of contracts, maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers
Monitoring contracts and managing extension or renewal of contracts and contract close-out
Problem-solving contract-related issues
Provision of high-level advice, support and review in relation to Procurement and contract management activities ranging from simple to complex contracts
Undertaking the preparation of approval documentation including: Approval to Approach the Market, Evaluation Outcomes, Approval to Commit Funds and Enter into Arrangements; Contracts and Work Orders
Preparation and ongoing management of Government contracts (simple and complex)
Preparation and ongoing management of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
Provision of policy advice in relation to compliance with relevant Australian Government legislation, rules and policies relating to contract management and procurement activities
Prepare and support the timely and accurate reporting of financial and delivery performance
Stakeholder management and engagement
Risk assessment and issue management
Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on Procurement and contract activity to meet departmental compliance requirements
Independent well-organised self-motivated person with attention to detail and ability to work within a team, respecting deadlines, ability to deal with stressful situation.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
To be eligible for employment in this role, you must be an Australian citizen, and have and hold an Australian Government security clearance at the NV1 level for the duration of the Contract term.
