Chandler Macleod is working with a NSW State Government owned corporation to recruit a Category Manager to join the team in Regional NSW.
About the role
The Category Manager provides leadership and direction in the categories under management, including supply market management and development, strategic planning and execution, and contract and risk management activities to meet business needs.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and execute category plans and sourcing strategies based on research and analysis to optimise value for money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on category objectives.
- Lead negotiations on high impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver better category outcomes.
- Develop and implement category management plans to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise business outcomes.
- Professional experience in a similar role in a commercial contract management environment.
- NSW Government contracting/procurement experience.
- Extensive experience in the creation and development of Category Management frameworks, strategies and plans across different categories.
- Experience in overseeing and leading activities related to sourcing activities and the development of category management plans.
- Strong experience in managing commercial relationships and coordinating performance management.
- Experience in driving cost savings with the ability to identify and mitigate risk.
- Experience in the negotiation of supply agreements.
- Oracle ERP experience highly desirable.
- Degree in Business Management, Commerce, Procurement and Logistics or Supply Chain or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualification
