Our Client, a large Federal Government Department presents an exciting opportunity in a fast paced environment for a Procurement Officer to join their team.
The Procurement officer will:
- Develop and negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet the requirements of the Taskforce;
- Develop and contribute to executive reporting briefs with analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve outcome;
- Lead the compliance and auditing of procurement and financial practices within the Taskforce, with sensitivity under limited guidance;
- Provide subject matter expert advice to Team Members ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and best practice with regards to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules;
- Actively participate in stakeholder meetings and planning activities to achieve continuous improvement in business practices.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong digital literacy awareness and confidence in the use of digital tools to solve problems, be productive, and collaborate with others in a digital environment;
- The ability to perform, adjust and excel in a high-performing team and fast-paced and high-profile environment;
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, and an ability to communicate complex and technical concepts succinctly;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to apply well developed analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve outcomes
- Formal qualifications and/or experience with legislative and governance frameworks and best practice with regards to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
The succesful Procurement Officer must have the ability to manage a high workload with limited supervision and work remotely when required. The Taskforce works in a hybrid model, where workforce is distributed across all states and territories. Flexible or remote work arrangements may be considered
