An emerging exploration and drilling company funded by NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd, an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer since 2009. Auspin has a proven technical team currently based in Pajingo Gold Mine continuously adding new ounces for the mine, apart from the technical capability, Auspin’s drilling division is led by a highly experienced team, currently it has 3 exploration rigs at Pajingo Mine.
The role is based in our Townsville Head Office working an 5/2 roster, 8-hour days.
About the role
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for creating new suppliers, negotiating the company’s purchasing agreements, and planning and creating purchase orders (PO’s) to maintain timely and cost-effective supply of goods and services required by the business operation. This includes following through the Purchase to Pay process to ensure timely deliveries, accurate receipts and resolution of any supply issues to prevent material shortages or delays. The position is also required to manage inventory and contract along the whole supply chain process.
Duties
- Creating new suppliers by following the business procedure and maintaining effective relationship with existing suppliers
- Planning, creating, and processing timely requisitions and purchase orders for goods and services
- Purchase Order placement and expediting
- Goods delivery and goods/service receipt
- Working with Quality Assurance for inspection upon delivery to ensure orders are filled correctly and that goods meet specifications
- Working with other internal departments such as finance, marketing, and operations to resolve issues and concerns
- Inventory management: generating and practicing inventory management workflows in terms of min/max settings, replenishment, stocktake, category management
- Contract management: preparation, negotiating contracts with suppliers for dedicated supply, including implementation of the contract. Uploading contracts into SAP and maintaining effective link between the contract and PO’s
- Analysing industry and demand trends
About you
Working for our newly established drilling and exploration service company, the successfully candidate will be a multiple player in the supply chain process with Purchase to Pay, Inventory Management and Contract Management skills. In compliance with the company’s policy and procedures, you will be a good problem solver to sustain business required supplies.
Key requirements:
- At least 5 years + experience with a procurement, purchasing or contract management related role in the mining or the exploration sector
- Excellent SAP skills with Material Management module
- Good oral and written skills, in both presentation and technical writing
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply critical thinking in every step during the sourcing process
- Experience with price analyses, source selection and justification
- Microsoft Office
- Choosing a mathematical method or formula to solve problems
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or economics is desirable
