This Federal Government Taskforce specialises in simplifying and improving cross-border trade in Australia, aiming to strengthen Australia's economic resilience. To support this ever-responsive environment, we are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to provide advice and support to both financial and procurement activities within the Taskforce. This is a temporary opportunity expected to commence on the 7th of March until June 28th 2024, with the potential to be extended.
The Procurement Officer position supports a range of financial and procurement activities. This includes providing financial and procurement advice, undertaking financial management activities, assisting teams with their procurement and contracting needs, and building productive relationships across the department.
To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen, and hold at minimum a baseline level security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide relevant and accurate advice on financial management, financial policy, procurement, and contracting matters.
- Undertake financial administration and analysis including financial and procurement reporting.
- Assist with internal budget maintenance, including mid-year review.
- Assist the Taskforce in procurement and contracting requirements, undertaking audits to ensure compliance and improve data integrity.
- Develop and maintain good communication channels with relevant stakeholders to facilitate and deliver on the requirement of the Taskforce.
- Contribute to the team's innovation and continuous business process improvement and identify risks and business opportunities.

- Formal qualifications and/or experience with legislative and governance frameworks and best practice with regards to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
