About us

The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

About the role

The Procurement Project Coordinator works within the Procurement Policy and Analytics team which has a focus on improving whole of Victorian government procurement through improved procurement technology, strengthening procurement policy and governance, and improving procurement capability to support the VPS to make the best procurement decisions.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement Systems and Data, the Procurement Project Coordinator will provide advice and support to multiple projects including implementation of new procurement and data analytics systems as well as ongoing support and enhancement for existing systems and platforms.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Participating in project coordination duties and activities for key projects including planning, reporting, activity oversight and testing
  • Providing customer support for stakeholders interacting with procurement systems (primarily the Supplier Hub and Digital Marketplace) including suppliers and government buyers to resolve issues and provide supporting information and user help services.
  • Participating in ongoing training, system knowledge and data literacy and numeracy capability development activities
  • Assisting with administrative duties relating to contract management, including management/renewal of existing contracts and execution of new contracts.

About you

To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with an ability to clearly articulate outcomes, listen to customers / clients / stakeholders and address their requirements within agreed time frames.
  • Experience in the provision of high-quality customer service and support that ensures system and data users are well informed and that issues are resolved with a focus on communication, collaboration and shared outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively planning and managing competing priorities and projects, with a willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and to constructively support the delivery of team and organisation-wide outputs.
  • Ability to think outside the square, a willingness to try new things and a genuine desire to learn, share knowledge and make a difference
Mandatory requirements

Experience and knowledge relating to procurement and/or data systems and analysis is required

Other qualifications of direct relevance to the work of the Group and/or the Department are highly
desirable
