The Opportunity
Come and Discover the exciting opportunity to join our Logistics Procurement team as a Procurement Specialist located in either Braeside VIC or Port Kembla NSW. As BlueScope continues to grow as a business, we continue to strengthen and develop our people. The Logistics Procurement team plays a pivotal support role to our Australian Steel Products business (ASP) as subject matter experts in the logistics domain. As an esteemed business partner, you will closely engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain, operations, logistics, commercial and our lead teams. Your role will be to elevate the customer experience by negotiating and executing agreements to provide the best logistics service to meet the diverse needs of our business, including service, safety and governance requirements. These agreements will provide a sustainable platform for our businesses to deliver products to their customers with the required service levels and cost efficiency.
You will receive an attractive salary including 14% superannuation, plus an annual bonus through our profit share plan. Additionally, we provide hybrid working arrangements, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.
What will you do
Working with a supportive, collaborative and inclusive team, you will engage with stakeholders across all BlueScope business units developing an understanding of their logistics requirements and managing sourcing projects to help deliver great customer experiences. You will:
- lead small to medium sourcing projects ranging from contract amendments, extensions to direct negotiations and tenders across all BlueScope businesses
- proactively liaise with key stakeholders including Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure alignment and support to achieve the best total cost solution for our business
- manage multiple projects across multiple business divisions simultaneously
- promote the procurement culture, processes and systems that assist in value delivery to our business including EBIT improvement, cost avoidance and reducing total freight spend and costs through the supply chain
- develop contractual agreements from our templates, which deliver safe, reliable, flexible and cost effective solutions
- work collaboratively with our internal teams and our suppliers to obtain required information in a timely manner - including Scope of Work for sourcing activities
- ensure critical contractual and other information is entered into and maintained within the appropriate systems

- commercial and legal acumen with an understanding of commercial terms and conditions
- effective influencing and negotiation skills
- ability to listen to our customer needs and translate these into documentation to suppliers to clearly outline our requirements
- proficiency in the use MS Office suite of products
