Job Description Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Specialist / Business Partner to join Service Stream at our Melbourne Office.
About the Role
A key contributor to a growing procurement team focused on delivering an efficient and effective framework that aligns with the Group's strategic and operational objectives to deliver optimal commercial outcomes from its procurement activities.
A key focus is on delivering optimal value and mitigating risk through sourcing activities RFP/RFQ (RFx), evaluate supplier quality, price, capability and optimal contract terms for the business.
A key component of the role is business-partnering through proactive stakeholder engagement, develop quality relationship and collaboration to understand key drivers and deliver value to the business.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end supplier / subcontractor RFx activities for the Transport business unit
Develop RFx packs through existing and/or new templates
Prepare RFx packs in collaboration with Bid Teams
Identify sourcing opportunities and recommend strategies to the business to engage the market
Conduct supplier/subcontactor benchmarking, spend and market analyses to provide valuable insights
Review/analyse returned RFx packs, negotiate with Subcontractors/Suppliers and make recommendations
Maintain consistency and integrity in supplier selection
Obtain commercial value and mitigate risks in the negotiation of contracts
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders
Deliver cost savings, in alignment with Business Unit objectives and Group Procurement's annual savings target
Ensure that all commercial activities and arrangements are conducted in compliance with legal requirements, appropriate ethical and governance standards, and Group policies and risk appetite
Be involved in the continuous improvement of the Procurement function
This is a newly created role responsible for business partnering with the Pre-contract Team and eventually for the Projects Delivery Team within the Transport business unit.
The Transport business unit is one of three revenue units, and Group Procurement is part of Business Services, one of the key enabling units within Service Stream.
The role will report to the Group Procurement Manager and assigned as a Business Partner to the Transport business to support the client tender bidding process by providing market and supply insights, cost estimation & benchmark analyses for the business.

About you
Minimum 3-5 years experience in procurement
Experience and understanding of the sourcing process (RFQ, RFP, RFx) is essential
Experience in direct categories such as subcontractors, direct materials and/or experience in the civil engineering or transport infrastructure industries will be advantageous
Analytical skills - Cost and spend analyses, excellent with excel, pivot tables, vlookups,etc
