A bit about the role

The Procurement Support Officer will provide efficient administrative support to the Procurement team and effectively prioritise procurement enquiries from stakeholders.

As the first point of contact for staff, you will provide excellent customer service in addressing procurement enquiries, delivering training and performing varied purchasing duties for stakeholders across the organisation.

What you’ll deliver

  • Provide excellent customer service in the monitoring of procurement mailboxes, directing enquiries to appropriate members of the Procurement team and responding to simple queries.
  • Provide system support to end users on purchasing tasks including but not limited to; raising Purchase Orders, receipting invoices and conducting Requests for Quotation, managing system issues to resolution and escalating these where required.
  • Deliver a regular training program to end users on purchasing tasks such as raising Purchase Orders, receipting invoices and conducting Requests for Quotation.
  • Process new supplier requests and create new suppliers in the TechnologyOne system and perform validation of new supplier details, including but not limited to banking details.
  • Purchasing duties as required, including but not limited to placing orders on behalf of stakeholders across the organisation.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant qualifications or demonstrated work experience commensurate with the requirements of the role.
  • Demonstrated procurement experience within a Public Sector or Public Service environment is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
