We are seeking a talented Product Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to developing and producing our innovative product range. About the Role:
As a Product Design Engineer at Thermoline, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the Technical Managers, you will assist in mechanical engineering research, design, construction, and maintenance of our product line. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your designs from conception to production, continually seeking efficiency and quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate manufacturing R&D and oversee production sign-off processes
- Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure product manufacturability
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop detailed mechanical designs and documentation
- Assist in creating assembly instructions and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Contribute to idea generation and problem-solving activities, collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders
- Design for manufacturability, quality, and assembly, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance
- Provide timely reporting on project status and progress
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Possess a mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach to work, with exceptional planning and time management skills
- Seeking customer feedback from sales and marketing teams
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or Inventor CAD software
- Experience creating manufacturing drawings and associated documentation
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of sheet metal design, refrigeration, and electrical principles
- Ability to translate R&D concepts into documented reality
- Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Familiarity with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Basic knowledge and experience of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is advantageous
- Experience in PLC/HMI programming or similar PLC/Automation is highly regarded
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles is highly desirable
- Australian Residents Only - You should be reasonably located to Wetherill Park
