Product Designer

As the largest automotive content publisher in Australia (both written and video) millions of consumers rely on our independent, industry-leading voice to inform their new car purchases each month through our valuable tools, reports, news, car reviews, comparisons, videos and more.

We are constantly developing new products and usability improvements to further facilitate the purchase of new cars through the CarExpert website. Aided by a team of passionate car experts and a detailed strategy with clear purpose, we are continuing to experience rapid growth and are investing heavily to achieve our vision.

Job Summary

The Product Designer will play a key role in the design process of all new products and enhancements and work closely with the Product Manager on the execution of product initiatives and play an instrumental role in shaping the user experience. 

Key Responsibilities

• Set design requirements based on briefs from internal teams.
• Work closely with the Product Managers to Identify opportunities for new products. 
• Work closely with business, data and technology stakeholders to understand and identify business and CX issues to feed into solutions to help drive leads/growth and revenue.
• Ability to work in an agile delivery team, translating UX strategy and concepts into meaningful and deliverable products.
• Collaborative design approach, incorporating feedback from a variety of stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to ensure design quality, including translating designs into deliverable product initiatives.
• Ability to quickly design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups to illustrate user interface concepts. 
• Use A/B testing, analytics, user feedback and market research to inform user experience and user interface design.

Education, Experience & Skills 

• 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing recent design work, including thought process.
• Experience working on digital products, particularly B2C websites.
• Competency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping and high fidelity designs.
• Understanding of UX research methods, and ability to choose and conduct research based on the initiative budget and needs.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
