About the role
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Product Development Coordinator to join the Carman’s Product Development Team. Reporting to the Senior Product Development Manager of Nutritional Snacks, you will support the team in day-to-day coordination.
What does my day look like?
- Draft NPD briefs for projects.
- Making up potential product recipes in kitchen alongside PD and Product, Quality & sensory coordinator and providing feedback on recipe to PDMs.
- Support with creation of samples and materials for events and tastings.
- Support completion of PDS document.
- Ensuring all new ingredients are entered in raw material register and current ingredients are regularly updated in accordance with supplier PIFs.
- Support Product Development managers with production trials.
- Support effective and thorough handover to QA team for first production.
- Manage small product format changes (decision brief) projects in line with stage and gate process (once training has been provided).
- Take on PDM tasks to cover absence/leave.
- Identify and monitor product, consumer, and ingredient trends through means such as internet, social media reviews, overseas/domestic market assessments, trade shows, seminars, and supplier workshops and regularly meet with ingredient suppliers.
- Regular inputs into NPD pipeline – ideations/flavours.
- Managing Kitchen/lab ingredients supply to facilitate kitchen recipe development.
- Coordinate and facilitate regular benchmarking of competitor products.
- Support the PD team on process and administrative tasks.
What are we looking for?
- Tertiary qualifications in a food related discipline.
- Have up to date knowledge of category, technical, macro, and general food trends.
- Basic technical food composition.
- Previous experience is highly regarded.
- Microsoft suite skills including excel and Teams.
- Strong planning & organisation skills.
- Ability to multitask and priortise.
- Team player.
- Collaborator.
