Position overview:
We're looking for a bright and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Product Team, with continued opportunity for growth.
Your key duties and responsibilities:
- Assist Product Management team and Senior Managers to identify and source new products from overseas manufacturers, primarily in China, Taiwan and Europe.
- Work with overseas manufacturers to develop new models, and source new materials and technology to be incorporated into product designs.
- Arrange for and review samples, and provide analysis and feedback to Product Manager and the manufacturer.
- Assist in all aspects of preparing new products including arranging testing and certification, working with purchasing and marketing teams to prepare codes, pricing and marketing materials.
- Provide technical assistance and advice to the production plants, trouble-shooting and working through technical product challenges.
- Responsibility for ensuring high product quality and maintaining quality control (both locally and overseas). Work closely with manufacturing to ensure seamless transition from development to production, maintaining product integrity.
- Conduct quality control checks on all planned shipments either in-person on arrival, or through coordination with international QC Technicians.
- Generate and issue product specifications for all products and ensure that they comply to customer and internal requirements before production, which includes but is not limited to specification, instruction manual, barcode information and any other specific requirements.
- Prepare internal docs such as manual, specification sheets, BOM lists and coordinate labels and artwork.
- Ensure products adhere to current Australian Standards and ongoing regulatory compliance with support from external compliance consultants.
- Stay up to date with industry advancements and technologies to continuously improve our product offerings.
- Provide technical support to the warranty and service teams. Conduct testing of faulty items to identify issues and opportunities for existing product improvements.
Qualifications and experience required:
- University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Electrical Engineering preferred, Mechanical Engineering also highly regarded).
- Knowledge and technical understanding of relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
- Hands on experience with hand tools and testing products.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisation skills, a high degree of enthusiasm, an extremely positive attitude and a strong vision for excellence.
- Strong communications and presentation skills.
- Ability to speak Mandarin at a professional level would be highly advantageous.
