The Opportunity

The Product Development Manager – Attachments role is a pivotal leadership role working to ensure that our products not only meet but exceed our customer needs and business goals.  

Reporting to the Vice President – Innovation & Strategic Projects, this leading, newly created position supports the research, assessment, creation and improvement of Payload’s world-class buckets from conception to manufacture.

As Product Development Manager – Attachments, you will play a pivotal role in identifying continuous improvement opportunities, ensuring optimum designs are fit for purpose, mining application, and set the roadmap for future product line.

Additionally, you will:

• Set and lead the stewardship of Attachments long term vision and strategy by ensuring a full product suite that is fit for purpose and exceeds the customer’s needs.
• Identify and provide long term differentiators to create customer value and provide guidance on future markets.
• Lead and manage collaboration with business development, engineering, finance and manufacturing teams to ensure positive business outcomes.
• Drive the road map and priorities for Product Development, improvement and sustainability.
• Guide our leaders and experts to ensure collaboration ensuring our company goals and objectives are met.
• Champion a strong service culture across Payload and operate at our OEM standards with agility and innovation.
• Provide technical expertise and collaboration with the capital sales, engineering department and aftersales team by attending internal meetings, client meetings, and site visits.
• Be an adaptable, versatile and creative thinker with the ability to synthesis and analyse data and inputs into prudent decision making.

You'll hold the following qualifications:

• Degree qualified in Civil, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

You’ll also bring skills, knowledge and experience that include:

• Extensive key leadership experience in a similar role – a minimum of five years within bucket manufacturing, mine application and cost analysis.
• Proven performance in cost analysis when developing a new product.
• Developing product strategies that align with the Group’s goals and customer needs.
• Highly developed reporting and presentation skills.
• Outstanding communication skills across all levels of personnel internally and externally.
• An astute commercial business acumen.
