The Product Development Manager oversees the electrical and process automation design and architecture for engineering projects aimed at product improvement and development. This role demands extensive expertise in industrial electrical engineering, electrical standards, process control design, network architecture, and MES/ERP integrations. The PDM leads the Product Development team, responsible for enhancing our standard product portfolio according to the product roadmap and developing tailored solutions for our customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Product Development strategies aligned with the company's overall goals.
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive products.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of Product Development projects.
- Oversee the design, development, and testing of new products.
- Ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and manage budgets for Product Development projects.
- Act as the main point of contact for product-related inquiries and communication.
- Promote a culture of innovation within the Product Development team.
- Identify and manage relationships with key suppliers and partners.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and gather insights for product improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field
- 7+ years experience in the mining industry
- Experience in designing process automation for OEM equipment is an advantage.
- Experience with Functional Safety systems is a plus.
- Experience with commissioning automated equipment or systems is beneficial.
- Project management experience is advantageous.
- Experience as a trainer and in developing training materials is a plus.
