Purpose of Position:
The role of Product Owner is a high profile, high visibility role supporting the Hexagon Mining’s future platform. This role works closely with global sales and services teams meaning some work may be outside of traditional business hours.
Strong skill and ability to triage and prioritize requests based on level criticality will be required. Must have strong technical knowledge in the areas of software development, project management and requirements development.
This position is responsible for leading the development teams' execution and delivery of software releases within the software development life cycle process. This position understands and coordinates feature backlog for all software releases. They will lead the translation of technical requirements into software and follow the Agile Scrum based software development. They will assist in defining software release plans and scopes with a Product Manager. This role serves as the single voice on releases into and out of Product Development.
As a Product Owner you will help to develop and maintain a vision for the product and will be responsible for communicating that vision to the scrum teams. As Product Owner you will be responsible for the product and product features from concept to EOL. The Product Owner works with architects, product management and development teams to ensure that business, quality, and functional goals are met with each product release.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Effective and maintained backlog
• Managing clear and defined acceptance criteria per feature
• Ability to work with the UI/UX team to define clear interface mockups
• Ability to work with key stakeholders across the company to ensure successful product releases
• Ability to provide support through the means of training and demo environment setup for Sales and Services
• Able to assess and mitigate risk of key software features during the design and implementation process
• Effective and efficient decision making when balancing competing lifecycle and innovation product requirements
• Ability to deliver products on-time and on-budget while maintaining quality
• Promote continuous improvement
• Inspire and motivate the development teams to deliver innovative and exciting solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency
• Perform other ad-hoc duties within reason, as required

Knowledge & Experience Required:
Education / Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role

Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experienced in Agile development environment
• Experienced in working with Atlassian tools, such as, JIRA, Confluence etc.
• Working knowledge of product development systems
• Working knowledge of Figma
• Ability to prioritize effectively
• Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Knowledge of development using CSS, React, node.js will be beneficial
• Strong project management skills including project planning and organization, monitoring progress, objectives and results tracking.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary stakeholders which may include scrum teams, product management team, client’s tech services team etc.

• Knowledge of development using C#

• Travel (interstate, intrastate and overseas) may sometimes be a requirement of this role
