About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Product, the Product Owner is a professional who organizes, prioritizes, and assesses work for a scrum team. As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for incorporating feature requests, refining and prioritizing backlog and approving user stories and acceptance criteria developed by the business analyst.

This role will see you supporting multiple Scrum teams who serve as the customer proxy and is responsible for working with peer Product Managers to define and prioritise the backlog, including, but not limited to platform functionality, defects and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities for the role include:

• Assist with the effective delivery of the product and defect backlog. Key components of this include; the prioritisation and definition of product features and identification of new product features.
• Engage with clients, competitors, channel partners, technical support, engineering, third party vendors and other relevant stakeholders to gather, define and prioritise product and customer requirements.
• Work with peer Product Owner(s) and Product Manager(s) to define the product roadmap and strategy to meet the product team’s goals within the organisational strategic framework
• Support the business development teams with feature request assessment and the promotion of products within the sales process.
• Work with the Technical Writer to ensure training/ product guides and user specifications are kept current, accurate and complete.

About You

You will have all or majority of the following skills and attributes:

• 7+ years’ experience as a Product Owner working with agile squad teams
• Demonstrated experience of agile development methodologies, including backlog management, prioritisation, user story definition and refinement
• Comprehensive understanding of the payments industry
• Software development experience within an Agile environment and within this, specific experience in driving the development of successful software products from inception or delivery of multiple major software product releases with new user interface designs
• Advanced written and oral communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the business particularly end-users and technical subject matter experts
• Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and work with a broad range of stakeholders to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• Demonstrated ability to balance and successfully deliver multiple priorities on time, within budget and to quality standards

Not a necessity, but formal qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant discipline will also be highly regarded.
