About the role
As part of our transition into future energy, we have an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner responsible for the delivery of assigned products and projects using Agile methodologies. The role focuses on delivering excellence and optimising the teams output without compromise to our design principles, quality levels and integrity standards by coaching the team / squad, managing backlog and prioritising, collaborating with stakeholders, managing change of product and business capabilities, managing risks and issues, controlling assigned work within approved budgets, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the project/product development teams in the successful delivery of the required product changes using Agile methodologies.
- Work with stakeholders to define project/product scope and objectives and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Lead and coordinate quarterly planning for area of delivery.
- Collaborate and integrate delivery as necessary with IT delivery leads and other Product Owner leads/squads.
- Develop roadmaps, plans and timelines, and track progress against milestones.
- Identify and manage delivery risks and issues, escalating as required.
- Provide status reports for governance purposes.
- Ensure Delivery Teams understand the business need and value driving all prioritised backlog work. This is essential for planning, solution option capture and delivery urgency purposes.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders and vendors.
- Manage assigned cost budgets, forecasting and tracking monthly cashflow.
- Champion and lead our teams in following Agile best practices and ensuring project deliverables are of high quality.
About you
We are looking for individuals able to create innovative solutions to meet our customers’ needs, making their energy transition easy and driving value creation; able to manage and navigate ambiguity, complexity, and uncertainty by utilising structured problem-solving techniques by using Agile best practices, being able to understand the customer journey with a customer centric approach.
This role is open to applicants preferably based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane in Australia, as well as in New Zealand, with full working rights; willing to travel/attend different client visits and/or conferences all over the country.
Key skills and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering or similar
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a Product Owner, senior business analyst or project manager
- Expertise in Agile delivery methodology
- Expertise and confidence in facilitating, both in person and remotely
- Experience using collaborative tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MIRO and Microsoft Teams
- Experience leading and developing high performance teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Good practical process management skills including documentation and continuous quality improvement
- Proactive, ‘can do’ attitude, exceptionally self-motivated
- Demonstrate patience, understanding and flexibility in your approach, taking the time to understand and adapt to different maturity levels
- Able to translate technology easily and simply for all levels of stakeholder understanding.
